CIPD unveils new reward qualification

pp_default1

Professional body, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has launched a new advanced certificate in reward management in recognition of the growing specialised nature of reward within human resources management.

The new qualification is applicable for professionals working in all sectors including public, private and not-for-profit.

Charles Cotton, CIPD reward adviser commented:

“Reward is becoming the ‘must have’ for those with ambitions to rise to the top of the profession. It is at the centre of many of the issues facing organisations, such as linking executive remuneration to organisational performance, providing affordable retirement programmes and rewarding employee contribution in a non-discriminatory way.”

The Certificate modules and resources will include:

* Base and Variable Pay
* Benefits, Pensions and Share
* Reward in Context
* CIPD Reward at Work resources and faculty

CIPD training manager, Robert Bennison said: “Employers need to consider all aspects of reward to ensure they select a system to fit with overall business aims and objectives. This unique Certificate will demonstrate that there is no one best solution – it is essential to examine the environment, history and culture of an organisation in order to develop a scheme that fully meets the needs of both the organisation and its people.”

An open evening for prospective students of the new qualification will be held on 17 November 2004.
