We have an employee who broke their ankle whilst working in our Factory, they currently have a claim in with our insurers but have been off now for more than six months. SSP is no longer being paid but we dont know how to proceed. Should we be making arrangements for a home visit to talk to the employee about returning to work or should we be calling them into the office to discuss it further. I am not that comfortable about making a home visit (if you knew our standard of factory employees you would understand why)I am seeking the normal route to proceed in these cases as this employee does have a claim in against the company which we are intending to defend. Any advice would be appreciated.
