Coral bets on SaaS-based workforce management system

pp_default1

A UK bookie has rolled out WorkPlace System’s Software-as-a-Service-based workforce management offering across 1,700 of its licensed betting shops in order to manage the whereabouts of its 10,000 employees.

Coral, which is part of the Gala Coral Group, is the third largest retail bookmaking business in the country, with a market share of approximately 20%. The Group’s operations are primarily based in the UK, but it also has betting shops in Italy – two of the biggest gambling markets in Europe.

The firm’s aim in introducing the system was to manage its workers effectively in order to cut costs, reduce administration time and ensure consistent customer service levels. It wanted to deploy the right people in the right place at the right time in order to ensure that its shops were staffed adequately.

As a result, it implemented WorkPlace’s OnLine Cloud Schedule and Attendance Management, which comes with USB-based biometric registration devices for security purposes. Andy Hicks, Coral’s central operations director, said that the system was reliable, easy-to-use and gave "excellent visibility and control of our workforce".
