The Allaince and Leicester Building Society has announced that upto 1500 jobs will disappear during the next three years.
The job cuts result from plans to save £100 million in costs, and from restructuring operations to meet internet banking demand.
The society is currently briefing financial press, and have said that they hope that jobs will go through voluntary redundancies, reallocation and through retraining.
