A joint event hosted by the HR Society and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) will uniquely bring HR and finance professionals together to challenge the mantra that people are our most valuable asset.
The event will be hosted at Chartered Accountants Hall in London, where delegates will hear the views of three speakers, plus be involved in debate afterwards, which will focus on the practical difficulties in measuring non-financial KPIs, and performance measurement and management. The speakers are: Tony Powell, deputy chairman of ICAEW; Andrew Mayo, president of the HR Society, and Duncan Brown, HR practice partner at PWC.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Mayo said: “HR rightly wants to be seen as business-orientated. We feel, in the HR Society, that it is time that professional institutions whose members are all trying to help their businesses should cooperate more together rather than stick to their own silos. This is an initiative with that aim – on a subject of shared interest, namely the fundamental drivers of value in organisations. We are expecting more than 100 professionals to come and share their thoughts together.”
The event takes place on Thursday 22 May and will begin at 5.30pm for a 6pm start, with buffet and networking to follow the one-hour session. It is free for members of the HR Society and the Finance and Management Faculty from the ICAEW. For non-members the fee is £23.50, including VAT.
