Research into the customer support field in the UK has highlighted a juxtaposition emerging based on the level of importance being placed on contact centres vs the relative salaries being handed out to contact centre workers.
However, in the US, it appears the industry is more evolved, with average salaries much higher than across the pond. Yet, as the following infographic from Kayako shows, this comes with a number of caveats, including a greater burnout rate and increasing concerns around ensuring customer satisfaction during a period of increased workload (zoom to enlarge):
