News: Aegis Media turns HQ entry gates into staff feedback system

pp_default1

Aegis Media has turned the security gates at its Regents Place headquarters in London into a voting system, with the aim of collecting employee feedback in real-time.

As each of the digital marketing and communications agency’s 1,000 staff has entered the building over the last couple of weeks, they have been presented with screens asking questions such as ‘Who will win the 100 metre race today?’ and given three options.

They then entered one of three turnstiles that corresponded to their answer by swiping it with their security cards. The data collected was collated and subsequently used to generate graphs of employee opinions.

The so-called Swipe Survey system was launched as part of Aegis Media’s ‘Going for Gold’ activities and events, which were held for staff over the Olympics fortnight.

After the Games, the aim is to employ the technology to gather employee opinions on issues that affect them as well as conduct research on behalf of clients or ahead of client pitches.

The system was developed by Aegis Media’s advertising agency, glue Isobar, and involved adding support for wireless RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) technology to the firm’s NFC-based entry gates.
