Shaw Trust acquired the brand and intellectual property of TAEN – The Age and Employment Network in May 2015.
TAEN’s goal was to help remove age barriers to employment. It informed and advocated for effective age management policies to be adopted at all levels – in employing organisations, by individuals and across the labour market. It did this by promoting the best, most forward-looking practices in human capital management, particularly those aimed at maintaining health, optimising work design, planning and delivery learning, and changing the structure of careers.
TAEN worked with individuals and organisations, including government agencies, academic bodies, employers and unions.
Chris Ball, TAEN’s former Chief Executive, has been appointed as Shaw Trust’s Specialist Adviser on the Ageing Workforce and will continue to be responsible for the use and development of TAEN’s brand and activity of supporting older workers within Shaw Trust’s activities.
