Softworld news – latest update

SoftworldOn 26 and 27 February the annual Softworld HR and Payroll exibition will be taking place at ExCel, London. As well as an exibition of more than 75 providers, the show will be hosting around 50 seminars presented by vendors taking part.

Here, we’ll be publishing a range of updates and news from the event before, during and after it takes place. Read on for the latest updates so far:

  • Petrofac Production Services, a leading provider of services to the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, will be sharing details of the selection and implementation of its HR system over one year. The company will host a case study masterclass on the second day of the event entitled: ‘Making HR software work for you’. The hour-long session will look at the project which was overseen by Louise Ferguson, HR Director, commencing in 2001.

  • Alcatel will be sharing its experiences of implementing a flexible benefits system throughout its organisation. Sessions are on a first-come, first-served basis at the show, subject to availability.

  • ICS Computing will be launching and demonstrating their new Human Resources software system allowing self-sufficient management and processsing of own payroll.

  • Pyramid HR will be unveiling their new Time and Attendance system first previewed at the Softworld HR and Payroll Forum last October, allowing them to offer what they call a ‘Total People Management’ solution. Pyramid already offers Payroll, HR, Recruitment, Absence Management, Vehicle Administration, Expenses and Reporting modules. The new module will be integrated with existing payroll and HR modules in a single database. Pyramid will also be giving a seminar on the subject of Time and Management systems during the exhibition.

  • Accsoft have added a new personnel solution to their recruitment agency software, SPA, which allows personnel records to be kept by agencies, including the ability to maintain details of all contracts worked on by worker. The SPA system itself is designed to manage timesheets for temporary or contract staff, and can integrate with accounting systems such as Sage, Exchequer and Access.

  • Northgate Information Solutions and Prolog4 will be showing together for the first time after the Prolog4People software suite was bought by Northgate in Novemember. Northgate’s existing rage of HR solutions, ResourceLink, will also be on display.

  • e-Vector will be demonstrating its Inspire-HR solution, which is aimed at companies with 1000-5000 employees. e-Vector offers a full service portfolio of consulting, support and implementation of Oracle technology and applications solutions.

  • Mitrefinch will be showcasing a range of new software products at the National Softworld HR and Payroll Exhibition, including a new website module to their TMS package, which will offer employees the opportunity to access their own data.

  • Snowdrop Systems will be launching its new payroll product, Orchard, following its acquisition of Clockwork Payroll in July 2002. The software is available in three versions: hosted on the internet via ASP, through an outsourced bureau managed by Snowdrop, or installed on a company’s own IT system. To maintain the fruity theme, Softworld will be enlisting the help of ex-Eastend barrow boy Todd Carty (aka Mark Fowler) to hand out oranges, apples and pears to visitors.

  • Intellect will be demonstrating its Workforce suite of HR and personnel management software, including the Workforce Online self-service software, which now has a new manager access facility enabling managers to access and report on information about staff over the Internet. There is are also new elements to the Workforce Reporter, The Workforce line-up includes five core modules – Workforce Human Resource Manager, Workforce Public Sector, Workforce Training Manager, Workforce Recruitment Manager and Workforce Payroll Manager.

  • Softworks Computing Ltd will be launching ExpenseWise, a new expense tracking solution which allows organisations to automate the collection and processing of expenses. The system allows companies to standardise, monitor and control various expenses including travel, meals, mileage and project expenses and allows expense sheets to be submitted online to a supervisor for approval and sign-off. Employees can also view the current state of their request online. Softworks already offer a Time and Attendance software suite.

  • ASR Computers Limited are offering a free white paper on e-HR to any delegates attending one of their seminars. There will also be an opportunity to win up to £8,000 of free HR software at their stand. The seminars will look at how companies can overcome the fundamental changes in working practices through using technology and how streamlining administrative processes can be realised.
