Training is ‘key to boosting staff morale’ – study

leanring_books_training

The main objective in providing staff with training at the moment is to enhance the capabilities of the business as well as improve employee morale, a study has found.

The ‘Digital Learning for Business’ report published by training provider, the ILX Group, after conducting a survey of 100 HR decision-makers from some of the UK’s largest organisations in financial services, manufacturing, retail, distribution and transport and the public sector, likewise revealed that leadership and management skills were the most popular skills to try and boost.

But blended learning was also expected to become a major growth area over the year ahead. The research predicted that classroom training using digital tools such as interactive white boards and voting pads would increasingly be combined with elearning applications in a bid to make the experience fun and interactive, but also more effective in knowledge retention terms.

Finally, the authors predicted that personal devices would take over from company laptops as the main and preferred interface for enterprise learning. While the use of projectors and desktop PCs was gradually declining, tablet PCs, interconnected TVs and games consoles were becoming progressively popular.

For example, a surprising two out of five respondents were considering providing training via tablet devices during this year alone.
