We’re currently helping a client with the integration of a business they’ve just acquired. The acquired business has a trading scheme where they can buy and sell holidays. Part of our client’s business is a packaging plant, which they run 24/7, and obviously, the ability of staff here to buy additional holidays may have serious implications for the shift system which requires a certain number of staff to operate.

We’ve suggested that the packaging plant employees arrange their own cover, but our client is unhappy that the system runs differently in just one part of the organisation.

Has anyone any experience of introducing this sort of benefits trading in an organisation that operates shifts?
