I work a 24/7 shift thorughout the whole year. When I work a Bank Holiday I am entitled to extra payment. This year(2009) Boxing Day falls on a Saturday, and we are being told that we are not entitled to this extra benefit as the Bank Holiday has been moved to the Monday. This for us shift workers we do not feel is fair. Is it correct though? and if so is there anything we can do ready for 2010 when Christmas, Boxing and New Years Days all fall on a weekend?
