What is the situation when an employee’s parent is diagnosed with a terminal condition which is inoperable and untreatable therefore giving them months to live? What kind of leave would an employee be entitled to if any? The two weeks per annum just isn’t enough as the employee would ideally like to take as much time as possible off now. How does the law stand on cases like this? What options are available? The employee is a part time worker with approx 15 years service.
