I am part of a team working on developing a structure based on current competence levels. Each person will be assessed as competent based on a skills analysis of their job. Salary levels will complement this with a graded type effect, ie Level 1 (? amount) for competence in certain tasks, Level 2 (? amount)etc. therefore, people have something to achieve through multi-skilling and provide the company with greater flexibility (demand, holidays etc).
We are also looking at the types of jobs and level of skills required. Some roles require more skill than others and these are assessed objectively and then graded (Level 1, 2, 3 etc).

As we are a manufacturing organisation we would like to benchmark a similar industry to see a scheme in practice. Is there anyone that could support us in this matter.
