CPP Work Based Project

Hi, I’m struggling to choose a topic for my work based project.
I am not currently working so don’t have a current company to base this on. However I used to work for a company where although I wasn’t classed as HR what I did was very HR. Like Disciplinary & Grievance, Recruitment & Selection etc. So I am able to use what knowledge I have from there but won’t be able to talk to anyone that I used to work with, as there is no longer anyone there. Has anybody got any ideas or is there anyone in a similar situation?
