CRB Checks / Work Experience

With the new legislation on Safeguarding Vunerable Children is it a requirement to carry out CRB checks on employees when U16’s come into the workplace on their 2 weeks of work experience?

We do not have CRB checks in place and I seem unable to obtain a definitive answer.

Any input gratefully appreciated.
