All,

An employee had a disciplinary and served with an Improvement Notice which was to stay on file for 6 months.

The employee left the company 5 months into the Improvement Notice.

The employee now requires a reference and it has now been 8 months since the Improvement Notice was served.

Should the company have removed the Improvement Notice from the employees file even though that person has left the company?
