I have a staff member where her absence this calender year has reached 18 days. It is unrelated & sporadic absence with no GP certificates. I wrote advising of my concerns and that further absence may result in an occupational health referral and possible disciplinary action. I have now referred her to our Occupational Health team to ascertain if there is an underlying problem. If their report suggests there is no reason, what action can I take on her next absence?
