After 3 years and having had an unblemished work record containing no warnings or disciplinaries etc. I was dismissed from my job because apparently my employers thought i was not measuring up.
I never had any formal notification of this hearing (which I was told was going to be an informal chat) – only a text message sent by my manager at 10pm the night before the hearing was due to take place.
My hearing took place in the middle of a city centre bar with various staff/customers going about their business and no meeting minutes were ever written down and i was never offered the chance of any representation and was told that I was being dismissed.
I asked them why if they had had issues with my work before now had they not bothered to discuss them with me earlier to which the reply was that only recently they felt they had come to light.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Stephen
