When an employee has a high level of sporadic absence we often ask them to bring in doctor’s certificates for every period of absence, even if it is only one day. This can act as a deterrent against non-genuine absence. However, recently several doctors have refused to give us a certificate even if we pay for it, because they are not obliged to. Therefore, I am looking for alternative measures that we can use in this situation and to find out if anyone else has encountered this problem and how they reacted.
Many Thanks.
