We have certain barriers to entry based on external regulation rules as well as industry standards and moral viewpoints (e.g. convictions for drink driving and bankruptcy). The issue we are now struggling with is what happens if an employee gains such convictions (and other ones such as theft, GBH) whilst in employment? Do they have to tell us? Can we terminate employment on the basis of the conviction?
Does anyone have any experience of this?
