I’ve noticed that a number of our Company’s ex-employees still list themselves as current employees on their LinkedIn profile – we’re subsequently wondering what the implications might be, whether any of you might have encountered this issue in the past, and what you might have done about it (or not!).

I guess if someone might have been made redundant, and is still unemployed, then there is no real harm done by not updating their profile if it’s going improve their chances of getting back into work; however we’ve recently noticed one particular guy who left us to go to a competitor a good while ago, updated his profile accordingly, but has more recently updated it once again, displaying that he is back with our company when he clearly is not!

Is this legal? Should we be concerned?
