I have a couple of queries with regards to notice periods, and would appreciate any advice.

My contract of employment states that I should give 4 weeks notice.

If I were to leave with 2 weeks holidays owed, can I effectively leave after 2 weeks – or must I work the 4 weeks and be paid for holidays owed ?

Also, the company I work for have a habit of asking employees to leave immediately when they resign.

Although I do not know the specific details – if the company do this, are they legally obliged to pay me the 4 weeks notice period even if I do not actually work ?
