If we move staff from a contract allowing them to work within a flexi time system to a fixed hours over four and a half days, how do we accommodate holidays and time out for doctors, dentists etc. The hours would be worked four full days (mon-Thurs) and lunchtime finish on Friday.
At the moment staff use flexi time for doctors and dentists etc. and we book holidays on either half or full day.
What do other employers do in terms of fixed hours which cover the full day, ie 8am to 5.15 pm and permitting time off for doctors? Do you accommodate this but make it unpaid etc.
I would appreciate some advice from employers who run contracts like this.
