I was a Management Trainee going through different departments until September 07. I was then given a new job role on a 3 Month Trial period. 4 Months later i have been told the trial period is being reset becuase my boss didn’t come up with a training programme for me in the original 3 month period.

I have never had a letter stating my new job title but i have been given the title along with business cards stating the title, and have been told to use it as my signature on letters, emails etc. Therefore doing the role that goes along with the title for the last 4 months.

I know trial periods have no legal standing but i have done everything i was asked to do within this period, and i am now being told that the period has been reset and that they don’t want to limit which department i end up in. therefore removing the job title given.

I’m not sure what to do next, do i have any legal rights to the job title given even though it wasn’t given in writing?

Any advice would be much appreciated.
