The company that I am currently consulting have a travel policy insisting that all international travel (flights) are taken in economy class. Many of the employees have to travel long haul, West Coast USA, Far East, Asia and South America. With consistent and very frequent travel being undertaken, the threat of DVT is seriously high. Could the company be liable and open for litigation because of their travel policy, if an employee were to fall ill or worse due to DVT?
