My company are currently suggesting that a pregnant worker due to go on maternity leave in May be offered a one off ‘bonus’ to return on a particular day as specified by us (possibly after 6 months MAT Leave)in the hope that it will encourage them to return.
The company has never done anyting of the like before.
Is it lawful?
Would precident be set?
Could it be seen as discriminatory against men?
Could it be classed as harrassment?

I am uncomfortable with the whole suggestion, and would appreciate any comments.
