We are thinking of outsourcing some of our back office work to a foreign country as our operational costs have risen considerably in the past few years. At present our Company’s survival is also being brought into question. After taking all issues int oconsideration we appreciate that the cost of carrying out the work overseas can be a fraction of the cost we would incur here.
My question is if we employ someone from overseas and pay them from here do we still need to be paying them over the Minimum Wage rate of £5.35/hr even though the monies will be converted in the overseas currency when they receive their salaries there? The services will of course be carried out in the overseas country.
Any help will be appreciated & backing it up with relevant legislation will help even more.
