Our IT department employs a number of support individuals who are required to be on call for IT emergencies out of hours. One of our employees works a 40 hour week, Monday to Friday, and is then expected to be on call all night. This occurs 12 days out of 14, with those 12 days all in a row. This employee is not paid extra allowance for this. Is this kind of working pattern contravening any laws or regulations ? Many thanks…
