We have a special leave allowance for carers, which is in addition to their normal holiday and any statutory parental leave requirements.

The amount they can take per year is 5 days paid leave and 5 days unpaid leave. It is discretionary and for use in an emergency only and not, for example, to cover the pre-arranged holidays or appointments of the normal childminder.

Do any other companies have a similiar scheme and if so, do you pro rata the entitlement for part timers?
