We recently advertised a vacancy we have within our Quality Dept. due to retirement. We advertised it internally first and, after interviewing the candidates, could not fill the role so we advertised it externally. When applications started to come in another memeber of staff, from the same dept, resigned. His role is similar and we have potentially found someone, who applied for the other vacancy, who could do the job. We haven’t advertised this role at all. Do we have to or can we just make the appointment? We know we have nobody internally with the qualifications we need.
