The ERA 1996 states that an individual who is being made redundant is entitled to fair and reasonable time off to seek other work or conduct training etc. It also states:
“The amount of an employer’s liability to pay remuneration under subsection (1) shall not exceed, in respect of the notice period of any employee, forty per cent. of a week’s pay of that employee”
Does this statement mean that an employee is entitled to 40 per cent of his/her weekly hours to seek other work/training?
