A member of staff who has been with us for 11mths has a history of illness but is a good worker left a message on her managers phone at 2am on Friday morning to advise that she can’t work anymore and won’t be coming back! She has a history of depression and we have discovered that she has attempted suing previous employers (reason unknow) in the past. Her boyfriend has dropped off her office keys and has collected her personal belongings but we are unable to contact her and we have not had the resignation in writing although she has failed to turn up to work for two days now. What action shoudl we now take? She has not provided the statutory one montsh notice – when shoudlwe pay her until??
