One of our employees has been signed off sick by his Doctor with “lower back pain”. However, it has been discovered today that during the absence he continues to work behind the bar on a Saturday and Sunday at a pub.
He has today called in again to say that his sick leave is being extended. He is due to go on holiday shortly and when questioned about this his reply was that the Doctor said it was ok for him to fly 12 hours as long as he walked around for a while every 30 minutes.
Any advice please. We will call him in for a return to work meeting but this will not be until mid August due to his holiday. He also has 2 months remaining on a disciplinary for fraudulently changing a holiday form.
