An employee has been signed off sick via GP certification for 2 weeks. During this period they have holiday booked. Should they be allowed to cancel their holiday and let the sickness over-ride? Or should the holiday be deemed as taken as it was booked and thus now lost as it comes in a period of sickness – AND should there be a difference if they still do what they intended to do when booking the holiday, or they cancel what they intended to do because they are now ill? Would welcome a sharing of views.
