I’m currently undertaking my CIPD management report on Sickness Absence at my organisation and wanted to benchmark our levels against other companies.

Would anyone be willing to let me know what their target percentage of absence is and what their actual percentage is?

I’d also be very interested to know at what point an employee is “flagged up” as a recurrent absentee. We currently flag them up if they have had a) more than 3 separate periods of absence (regardless of duration) or b) more than 7 days of absence in any 6 month period.

I would also be very grateful if anyone would share their sickness absence policy.
