We are an IT company and we have engineers that currently support IT equipment at clients’ business addresses.

However we are coming under increasing pressure to provide support to some clients in their homes as increasing numbers of them work from home. The thought fills me with a certain degree of horror thinking of things like:

1. Damage or theft allegations
2. Sexual harassment allegations (how many people do you know with their PC in a spare bedroom?)
3. Accidents such as tripping down the stairs whilst carrying a printer and whether they would be insured.

That said, people like British Gas manage this sort of situation all day every day.

Has anyone got any thoughts about what things I need to consider before we do this or better yet, does anyone have a policy document they would be willing to share?

Thanks

Helen
