CIPD aims to find new CEO by November

pp_default1

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development is looking for a new permanent chief executive by November to replace current incumbent Jackie Orme, who is ill.

Orme, who is on long-term sick leave as she undergoes treatment for cancer, has asked to step aside from her duties. When her health allows and she returns to the organisation, her aim is to assume a different role there.

Gill Rider, its president, said: “We are looking for candidates with the vision and credibility to play a significant leadership role in the global HR profession – a strategist and business leader with international and board-level experience, someone who can be an opinion former and voice for HR in the world of business and employment policy.”

The search is being led by Sam Allen Associates on behalf of the CIPD Board’s renumeration committee. The goal is to have the new CEO in post by the time of the organisation’s annual conference and exhibition in November, but Sue Upton, its interim managing director, will continue in that role until a successor is found.
