The Employers’ Organisation (EO) for local government is touting for senior managers to act as mentors for new trainees on the National Graduate Development Programme (NGDP).
Mentors are called upon to assist trainees in achieving their full potential by ‘providing consistent business focused support and helping with post programme career plans.’
According to the EO 140 chief executives and senior managers in both local government and the private sector have become mentors from the following organisations:
- Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers (SOLACE)
- Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM)
- Local Government Association (LGA)
- Improvement and Development Agency
- Regional Employers Organisations
- County Councils Network (CCN)
- Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH)
- Masters in Public Administration – at Warwick University
- Connexions
- HM Prison Service
- Local Authorites
- Clutterbuck Associates
The NGDP programme was launched in 2002 to provide local authorities with high quality graduates with the potential to become senior managers in local government.
