The Funding Corporation, a financing firm are asking all 450 staff to take part in its selection for a canteen caterer.

Staff will vote for their favourite top nosh provider in a ‘taste-off.’

“It sounds trite, but there are four directors and 446 staff, so the staff get to choose the caterers. If we made the choice and it was wrong, then I think the first I’d know about it would be a custard pie in my face,” said Jim Rowley, The Funding Corporation (TFC) Managing Director.

A winner will be picked from three catering hopefuls.

“It’s very much in TFC’s philosophy to put the staff first. We’re a very hard-working business with massively committed staff who are part of a fast-growing enterprise. We listen to what staff want and what’s important to them. A good canteen with good food and good service is important.

“I don’t want to end up with egg on my face – or a custard pie – because of a wrong decision,” added Jim Rowley.
