A broad overview of the HR agenda is presented, incorporating employment legislation and the practical management of people issues.
Three levels are offered:
- Introduction to e-learning (1 week)
- BTEC Intermediate Award in Human Resources Administration Level 2 (14 weeks)
- BTEC Advanced Certificate in Human Resources Supervisory Management Level 3 (12 weeks – after completion of level 2 or entry assignments)
HRD & Payroll solutions has taken a soap-opera approach to its learning delivery. Characters including ‘Ed the CEO’, ‘Marjory the payroll manager’ and ‘Theresa from sales and marketing’ are among the central characters who perform role-play scenarios designed to guide learners through the variety of real-life people-management situations that might arise.
Problem-solving options are then presented by ‘HR guru’ and ‘Employment lawyer’ who offer possible solutions to the soap-star HR issues.
This cartoon-style training method sits alongside a range of additional learning support including a CIPD-authored workbook, an interactive tutor and learner forum, assignment tasks and tutor feedback.
