Signed off sick but getting married

Hi, I wanted some opinions on this. Someone is signed off sick but has planed and booked a wedding in the mean time.The wedding day was arranged and confirmed after they were on sick leave and not before. 

They are signed off with a bad back but are dress shopping and getting married 3 hrs away from home. 

Where do we stand on this?
