HR Software-as-a-Service provider Workday has integrated its offerings into Salesforce.com‘s environment to enable employees to undertake social collaboration and application development activities more easily.
The vendor has integrated its workforce data with Salesforce’s enterprise social media tool, Chatter, to enable users to share, collaborate and work with the information in real-time. Staff will be able to use Chatter to undertake such activities as getting requests approved, but they will also be able to collaborate on an enterprise-wide basis in areas related to sales, personnel, payroll, budgeting and project expenditure.
Marc Benioff, Salesforce.com’s chairman and chief executive, said: “Salesforce.com and Workday are both committed to transforming companies through the power of the social technology. It is exciting that customers can now bring the power of social collaboration to workforce data.”
In a related move, Workday also announced that its offerings had been integrated into Saleforce.com’s Force.com development environment. The move will enable Workday customers, partners and developers to securely pull their workforce data into Force.com in order to build their own customised packages.
